Unlock Intuition in Your Design Process

workshop.jpeg

In the midst of synthesising research data, it can be overwhelming to know where to start communicating what you learned in the field with your client. I use this trick when I’m not sure what insights are relevant or which story to tell:

Pretend you are speaking with your best friend after a long day at work. You tell her about the project. Tell her why it’s so challenging. Tell her what you think is interesting about the project. Tell her what stands out to you most from your research, what are the stories that will stick with you?

Use your answers to these questions as your starting point. Go back to the data and see if you can validate them, these are your personal insights. When you talk to someone you trust and love you can be honest with them and there is no fear of being judged for your thoughts. What happens when you imagine speaking openly to your best friend is that you tap into your intuition and personal analysis of the project.
